May 21, 2008 (Day 115)

Color Selections

Today we met with Beth and Jennifer from Vujovich to discuss paint colors. We spent the last couple weeks thinking about what we wanted to do with the colors in the interior and exterior spaces and sent our ideas to Beth and Jennifer (our designer and architect, respectively). Today they met us out at the house and we discussed color selections on the table saw in our new kitchen. We are really excited about the selections we made. We even made a significant departure on the exterior colors (and we’re equally excited about those too!)

Elsewhere... The guys from Capital Granite came today to install the marble hearths for the living room and master bedroom fireplaces. Rod (our cabinet maker) was on site as well to install the mantel he built for the master bedroom. It really looks great! We had them add corbels to the underside of the mantel shelf to echo the corbels on the exterior roof.

The gas company tried to reroute the gas line on Tuesday, but our neighbors disregarded the “No Parking” signs that they had posted. Therefore, the gas company called the City of Minneapolis to come post signs today. Now if anyone parks in front of our house tomorrow, they will get towed. We’d feel bad about that of course, but we need our gas connected so the paint will dry!
