June 20, 2008 (Day 145)

What’s New Is Old Again

Jerry, our master painter, and his crew are working hard to stain the new woodwork to match the existing woodwork in the foyer, living room, and dining room. They are also touching up much of the old woodwork. There was a time (before we bought the house) that this house was rented out. You can only imagine the number of times the walls and ceilings must have been painted over the years -- and judging by the amount of paint that was splattered on the woodwork, masking tape hadn’t been invented yet!

Tim also ordered some reproduction cast iron grilles to cover our new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) vents throughout the second floor. The large grilles that will cover the two large air intakes on the second floor arrived today so Tim posed them for some pictures.

Electrical and HVAC rough-in continues in the garage.
